Introduction: Creating a Picture For You!

It's Sunday 19 May 2024. The time is around 5:00 P.m. I was just chilling in my bed in my comfy pajamas, loose Tee, and freshly washed hair bun, and suddenly my roommate, tbh, she was more than just a roommate for me. Her name is "Humera". I used to call her "Didi" which means "Elder sister" in Indian language. She said, "Guess, where are we going today"? I said, "Where?". She replied "Sukhna-lake". I was like "OMG, Di! Are you serious?" She said "Yes"!

How We Reached? The Cab's Price, & Traffic

She said, "Don't waste time, now". Be quick and get ready. We have very little time". I was so so exxxxcitttted. Finally, that day has come, when I will watch the water. I love watching watery things like waterfalls, lakes, rivers, dams, and others, well these are not things, actually, lol.

We both got ready, locked our closet, and booked a cab. I was around 250 Rs from our PG in Dhakoli, Zirakpur. The cab arrived, and once we submitted the OTP and entered the cab, we, girls started doing our #GirlJob, of course, the pictures. How can we forget? 

It's around 6:00 P.m and the weather is becoming cooler and awesome. The sun is on the way to set. If you're new to Chandigarh I tell you that Chandigarh is not only known for its beauty but also for its long traffic at every intersection. Duhhh! 

We also wait a long in the traffic to reach our final destination "Sukhna Lake". Finally, we have arrived! There is no ticket, It's free to adore the beauty of Sukhna Lake. It was my first time visiting Sukhna Lake, Di had already visited it before I came to Chandigarh.

Finally...Hello Sukhna Lake! 

When I entered, I was amazed by the view. It was so soothing. I expected there to be a crowd on Sunday, but it was not as much as I expected. The place was clean and fresh. Some people also come here in the morning and evening for a workout.

The lake is actually big. There are also many sitting points with stairs where you can sit and feel the next level of relaxation amidst the water. We also did that. You will also see several artists singing at every sitting point. Their melodious voice syncing with the guitar's wires adds rhythmic vibes to everyone's Sukhna Lake adventure. We also listen to their music and even join them! Hats off! They are doing a great job of entertaining every visitor without any cost.  

Overall, it's an ideal family-friendly destination, a cheerful and natural spot for day outs with friends, and a romantic place for couples. 

We didn't even realize when 1.5 hours had passed! I don't want to come back. I want to stop the time. The soothing view and touch of the lake melt away my regular tiredness. However, the responsibilities are calling. We booked our cab and decided to return our PG because during peak time booking a cab becomes more difficult in Tricity. 

Some Genuine Tips For Sukhna Lake :

• Always keep a freshly filled water bottle in your bag.
• Avoid purchasing snacks inside Sukna Lake. We also purchased it but it was not good. So, it's up to you.
• If you're purchasing any foodie item, avoid throwing wrappers on the road and inside the Lake. Our nature is a priceless gem, keep it protected and clean.
• If you choose a professional photographer inside the lake to click your high-quality pictures, make sure to ask for their verified contact number. Don't do payment, if you don't like the pictures.
• Don't visit Sukhna Lake at night because, at night, you cannot see the lake's beauty.
• Keep the maximum budget of 1,000 per person, if you're going to explore Sukhna Lake. It can also vary on many factors like the cab's price, (We are from Zirakpur, and our charges were around 500, around 250 when we booked for Sukhna Lake, and the same when booked it from Sukhna Lake to our PG), boating price, food and snacks, and others.
